Hate

Many very religious (some prefer the term "Christian") friends and family follow this blog.

I'm normally very peaceful. Not confrontational at all. But let me tell you something. If your response to the very personal and hard situation DH and I are going through right now is similar to the post I am quoting below, don't bother getting in touch. Just walk away.

Go about your life without thinking of me again. Continue to pretend to be Christ-like and compassionate. Pay your tithing, attend meetings, wear pretty church clothes, lie to your Stake President in temple interview questions and live happily ever after.

And yes, I so totally went there. -- Ms.B

_______________

Greg, I don't even know what to say. I can say that I am not going to pretend that this choice is ok. It's not. I have actually been disgusted by all the gay parade posts on facebook. Every time I open my facebook there is something on there about you in the gay parades. I will always be polite to you, but this is just wrong. (In my opinion) Society is making this life style socially acceptable. Well, in my opinion it will never by socially acceptable. You have the right to live as you want. I have the right to my opinion. I am sick of society shoving this crap down our throats. I am tired of you and Blair (yes, Blair, not Jordene) pretending to be brother & sister. That's crazy. You are brothers. You can pretend to be brother & sister if you want, but it doesn't make it true. I have not accepted Blair as a friend because I just don't want to have that life style garbage in my face every time I turn on facebook. So take this as you want. It is your choice to be gay, but it is my choice to not have it in my face when I turn on my computer. Please understand that when I say, I am going to delete you as a friend on facebook. Again, I will always be polite to you. You are part of this family and I will always love you. I just choose not to be entertained by all the gay stuff you post online. My choice. I just wanted to explain where I was coming from and I wanted you to understand why you are being deleted as a friend. You are only being deleted as a facebook friend, not as a family member. (Just don't want to see it everyday - please understand)

DH's Facebook Revelation

You know that voice in your head that won't shut up? Well I do, and no I am not mentally insane. For a long time I have known something about myself that I haven't felt comfortable sharing with many people, but the time had come to give into the rational little voice in my head and just say it. In the words of a brave missionary friend, “While this may not come as a shock to many of you who haven’t already had it confirmed to you, to put it quite bluntly, I am indeed gay. And I don’t mean “happy” as the definition on that one. We’re talking rainbow flag-waving, parade marching, turtle-neck-wearing gay…” Unlike Kade I do wave a flag and happen to be in parades but that has nothing to do with being gay. Yes it's true, I am one of those homosexuals you have seen in the movies, or you have heard about on TV, but there is one difference between me and them, you know me.

Some of you don't know me very well, but I'm sure you have come in contact with me at some point, and I hope your impression of me was favorable. Something to remember as we are going forward is that I am the same person you have always known, but now you will know more about me. My sister has taught me a lot about being yourself, and though these next words aren't an exact quote, they are inspired by something she once wrote. :

I am the man that sat next to you on the bus.
I am the goofball that would do anything to make his friends smile.
I was a boy who always knew he was different then his peers.
I was a boy who was afraid to tell others who he was.

I am a gay man.

(This next part is an exact quote)

“I hope you all understand that I am who I have always been.
I hope you all understand that for the first time in my life I am being honest with everyone around me.
I hope you all understand that I have always known who I am, and that who I am will never change.
I hope you all understand that I love you all, and want all of you in my life.”

There it is, now you all know who I really am, but I'm hoping that won't change your opinion of me, but I'm sure that many of you have questions. So I will try and answer some of those here.

Topic One - Greg and Lindsie:

In the words of a wonderful woman named Lindsie, “I met my best friend. The most amazing person I've ever known in my life. Having known many terrific people, I'm sure you will understand what high praise this is.” From the very start we both knew that we had found an awesome person, and that we would be together forever. Our relationship has gone through many changes recently and it will continue to do so, but through all of this we want to remain best friends. One day when Lindsie finds a wonderful man worthy of her I hope he doesn't mind her protective gay husband.

Topic Two – Church:

Although there are certain things I don't agree with I am thankful for the things I learned as a member of the LDS church. I have made so many friends, and I have learned many lessons about being a better person. For those of you church members who don't think you can be my friend/family anymore I would like you to read the first half of this message over and over again, because I'm hoping it will help you realize I am still the person I've always been.
_______________________________

Topic Three – The Future

Lindsie and I haven't worked out all of the details yet, but I'm sure it will take some time. At this time we think that Lindsie may be heading off to Florida to help out her Grandpa which is great, because he is the cutest little old man you would ever know. I will look for some roommates to help me hold down the fort here as I will be staying in the house for now.
_______________________________

For those of you who I have added to my extended family recently I want to thank you for being such a support to me, you are all great examples of wonderful people. You know who you are and “We are family”.

I'm sure some of you will have other questions but instead of trying to answer them through gossip please contact me. Shoot me an email or call me and I would be happy to chat.

Ms.B Unwrapped

As per my Facebook Account update that was posted this morning:

Dear Friends and Family,

That I am not a naturally gifted writer is no secret. It is right now, sitting in front of this screen, that I suddenly wish I did have the sort of natural talent that would cause me to be able to just toss a bunch of words up here for you all to read-- the words that I am struggling to find to explain what is happening in my life. Why can't anything about this situation be easy? I think I deserve a break! Come on fate, throw me a bone!

Most close friends and family are already aware of the information I am about to share, and a few others will find out soon, via phone calls. But since it would take hours to explain properly, and since there are so many people who deserve the explanation, and since I have a massive load of preparations to make and can't spend multiple hours x200 to pass on the info, I hope you will all understand this informal internet approach. After all, isn't juicy gossip and updating what Facebook is all about?

Grab some popcorn. Pull up a chair. It's story time!

Summer 2004: I met my best friend. The most amazing person I've ever known in my life. Having known many terrific people, I'm sure you will understand what high praise this is. Greg and I instantly connected. Loved each other from the start. Couldn't NOT have the other in our lives. And so we married.

We got married and I've had the most wonderfully happy and rewarding and satisfying five years of my existence. It's funny how twists and turns come at us as we go about our days. Some folks might say they "knew all along" and others will be shocked… stunned, even. It is important to know that Greg and I are still the best of friends. I think we always will be. But now that there has been enough time for adjustment, and now that Greg is ready, he is about to embark on a new adventure. An adventure called "Life Without Hiding". Is he still the same Greg you've always known? Yes. Is anything about him going to change in the future? Hell no. So really, unless you are the type that can't suppress bigoted thoughts, nothing about your feelings for him should change when you realize that he officially 'came out of the closet' this past weekend. Yes, Greg is a gay man.

Although nothing changes, as far as “Greg- the person” goes, there are obviously going to be alterations in his life. He is losing his long-time redheaded roommate some time in the next month or two. Now that he’s ready to have his fresh start in life, I am going to leave our home and the furry children we’ve shared and go on an adventure of my own. Well, ‘most’ of the furry children. Naturally, Sir Gus would not appreciate being left behind. Where Lindsie goes, so goes Gus. Inseparable duo, we are. Remember my dreams of warmth and palm trees? Well, its coming true. I don’t have a specific date set, as of yet, but I am on my way. Orlando, Florida, here we come!

And there you have it. I’m losing a husband, but I’m not losing my friend. If I had to do it all over again I’d still marry the guy and enjoy our perfect five years. No regrets. I still have him, his wonderful family, and what feels like a lifetime of fond memories.

Now a fresh start and a whole new beginning awaits me.

p.s. If you want more details on the situation, you are welcome to call us. I’m still a highly private person, but I am happy to share needed information. Of course, if you are friends with both Greg and me, it will be more appropriate that you contact him. His own Facebook Note will give more info, of course, if by chance you’ve not yet read it. --L

The Mystery Continues...

Still no idea what is wrong with me as far as ailment #1 goes. Doctor said we'll reevaluate it in the future.

Ailment #2 has me on a daily antibiotic for the next, oh, six months. Yes. Six months.

I'm not one to be dramatic about my health. I hate this. WHEN did my body decide to just fall apart?

*whimper*

I really am getting old.

Tasty Tuesday -Week 20

Theme: Sandwiches

Okay, okay. So I'm taking the lazy way out yet again. Posting pictures is just sooo convenient! This week I present to you my favorite fast food. Yet another thing I am not able to eat very often. But the limitation only makes the enjoyment that much more powerful. :D

Tasty Tuesday -Week 19

Theme: Salty Snack

Those who know me best are aware that I have a weakness. Nachos. I can't have them often due to my low-sugar intake, but I crave them more often than any other snack. I stumbled across this picture on the site ilovenachocheese.com and realized that, out there, somewhere in the universe, someone actually loves nachos even more than I do.

Because this is just horridly disgusting to me.

EWW!

Tasty Tuesday -Week 18

Theme: Fruit

I dedicate this carving to my co-workers, Ashley and Justin, who are getting married this month. Who knew such cuteness could be carved out of fruit?

WHERE do people discover these talents?

Tasty Tuesday -Week 17

Theme: RANDOM

I saw this post on the controversial gossip site PerezHilton.com a while back and bookmarked it for this entry. NOTHING says "Yummy" like gold spray paint for food!

Isn't this rather amazing looking, though?

Tasty Tuesday -Week 16

Theme: YOUR CHOICE

Oooh, no set theme. All up to me to be creative. ACK!

*fail*

I hereby dedicate this post to Tasty Tuesday! If it wasn't for this meme that I partake in, my blog would have been rather barren the past few months. I know my inspiration to blab about my life (or the world in general) goes in spurts. But come rain or shine, I always make sure to put up the Tasty Tuesday post.

I love you, T.T.!!

Confusion...

Good news: Tests came back negative.

Bad news: So then what the hell is wrong with me?

Waiting

No letter today from the hospital. They said they'd view the results of the scan and depending on the severity of what they saw they'd either mail me a letter saying I was fine, or call to schedule further testing.

No response at all= a nervous Ms.B. Although, I guess not having them call right away in a panic could be considered a very good thing, yes?

And no. You don't have to scroll down to see what the heck I'm talking about. I've not mentioned any health issues prior to this, and I won't go into detail unless it ends up actually being a serious issue. Just venting to my blog a bit. Might as well put it to good use, eh?

Tasty Tuesday -Week 15

Theme: CANDY

Okay, okay. So I'm taking the easy way out this week with another picture. What can I say? I love me some BEANS!
