As we were leaving the grocery store this past weekend, the DH and I were approached by a friendly looking man who handed us a CD and explained that while he couldn't legally SELL it to us, he was looking for small donations and trying to spread the word about he and his cousin who are trying to catch a break in the music industry. We were amused by his story and handed over the few bucks we had on us.
Once inside our car, we inserted the disc, The Game Needs Us, into our player and for the entire drive back to the Haven we were subjected to the most pathetic rap we have ever heard in our lives.
Every other word was "Shit" , "F%$k" or something about "yo mother". I know that to have street cred, rappers have to include some potty language in their music (unless you are Will Smith). But really now, somewhere in the mix shouldn't you tell a story or convey some form of message to your listeners? We heard over half the 'album' as we were driving and the only phrase we can remember, that doesn't include the swears, is "Chillin with my duck". Whatever that means.
Quack.
